Our patented millimetre wave technology packs a staggering 180 Gbps Aggregated uplink & downlink data capacity in every micro-satellite. That is an astounding ten times higher capacity than the current cutting-edge technology with mind-boggling speeds of upto 400 Mbps. With our groundbreaking technology, cost of internet delivery can be cut by an astonishing 2000 times compared to the state-of-the-art terrestrial networks.

Cheaper than the State-of-the-Art Terrestrial Networks
Our patented millimetre wave technology provides 180 Gbps Aggregated uplink & downlink data capacity in every micro-satellite. SpaceNet provides ten times more capacity per square kilometre on ground than any other technology that exists in the industry today.
Laying fibre infrastructure takes years to deploy in new regions costing about $3,300 per square kilometer. One SpaceNet satellite covers two million square kilometers costing just $1.6 per square kilometer.

Despite an ever increasing demand for internet in semi-urban and rural areas, current technologies are unable to connect them due to exorbitant infrastructure costs. With SpaceNet, lightning speed internet of 50 to 400 Mbps will be available everywhere at affordable costs.

Mbps Everywhere
As per ITU, about 9 out of 10 young individuals not using the Internet live in developing countries. 48% households in the Developing Countries have no internet access. A World Bank study states that a 10% increase in internet penetration can lead to 1.38% GDP growth in developing countries and 1.2% GDP growth in developed countries. SpaceNet can impact billions of lives with high-speed & reliable internet.

Society for Innovation and Development’s STEM Cell incubates deep science start-ups that are commercially viable as well as have societal impact. Astrome fitted the bill perfectly. Here was a company that could revolutionalise the way broadband would be delivered to the end users, anytime, anywhere. The founders being IISc alumni and entrepreneurs with a passion to make a difference, made our decision to incubate them easy.

Getting Internet through SpaceNet will be as simple as DTH-TV. It uses an antenna and a set-top-box to deliver lightning speed internet of 50 to 400 Mbps even in semi-urban and rural areas.
While 5G opens up a new opportunity for telecom operators, the challenge is to develop the necessary infrastructure to support the ever growing demand for data. With SpaceNet, the reach of the 5G networks can be easily expanded to semi-urban and rural areas.

Industrial IoT
NSR estimates that by 2023 there will be 5.8 million machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT connections via satellite worldwide. Many of these applications generate huge amounts of data that require high-speed internet connection. SpaceNet enables IIoT services wherever they are needed - be it a large solar farm located in a desert or an oil rig located in the middle of the sea.
For shipping and airline companies, patchy-yet-expensive internet has been a hindrance to providing great customer experience. With SpaceNet, fleet owners can introduce data heavy services like HD video calls to their guests at an competitive prices.
